Borlange Street Open
The rain, the rain...
This year Borlange Street Open didn´t have so good luck with the wether. Saturday was just perfect, but sunday rained away totaly. Well, not totaly as the Juniordragsters could do one round just when the staff managed to dry the track. But then the rain started again. It was to late in the day to start anew dry sesion, and the rain continued anyway the rest of the day. This year was tuff for Borlange Dragracing Club in another way to, as the Turkey flight just a couple of weeks changed aircfraft that was flying 8 pm on friday instead of 10 am. That made the staff working with the track al friday night. Wich made the tracktion not to the very best but the best that was posibly.
The club is very happy anyway that so many compeeters from al ower come to Borlange this year and wich them al velcome back next year. And also a big thanks to the compeetors from Finland, Norway and England that came al the way.
The point standing is comming out at the link here att page as soon as posibly. I guess the point staff is now bussy to get in charge at Mantorp Park.

AlastaroNItro Nationals 2010 is over for this time and a lots of bad and good things did happen in Finland. We had five classes represented:Pro Mod, Super Comp, Stock/Super Stock and Super Gas Bike. In Pro Mod Mikael Gullkvist took the grand slam of the weekend. With his 5.91/395 km/h he is now the fastest Pro Mod driver in Europe. He also got the second membership in the Pro Mod 5 Sec Club from the Green Goblin Team. Mikael tog the win in Pro Mod and Linberg Br as RU. They was very satisfied with that. One win and one RU so far this season. Very respecful, nice and funny young guys Pro Mod class got this year. Pro Mods Andy Robinson got on fire and the car was totaly burned out. But Andy came out without any injury. - I got a spare body at home and the chassi seams to be alright. The electic system is al melted down so thats the bigest problem, but I think we´ll be on wheels again untill Hockenheim, but at least to the Finals, was the comment after an owerlook of the problems, was the coment from Andy. A bad Top Fuel insident happend on friday vs Neergard and Risto Putiainen where the dragsters hooked togheter and tumbled around. But luckely both drivers could walk by the spectators to show that they was just fine. On saturday they where on track again with rebuilted cars. And Risto ended up as RU this weekend. A thrill! Competitions Martin Lundkvist in he´s realy nice yellow picup did a excellent weekend and took the win n the finla at (8.10) 839/150 as Jani Lindvall did´nt come of the starting line. In Super Comp Joonas Pesonen took the win at 8.95/248 as Meri-Tuuli Sassi was to hot at the pedal and redlighted. Stock/Super Stocks Hannu Palasmaa did a nice wheelie and 10.62/198 beat Jarmo Markkanens 10.90/193. Super Gas Bikes Kristo Korpela did a nice run vs Manu Alarto. With just 7/10 of a sec from braking out he took the win. Read more details at www.eurodragster.com about the weekend. Next NRDS race is Fällfors Gold Town Dragrace in about a week for some classes, weekend after that Borlange Street Open runs some classes and then al classes meets at Mantorp Park and Veidec Festival.

Senast uppdaterad (2010-07-08 10:40) Tierp ArenaThe forst dig for the new Tierp Arena is made. A new arena is about to be build in the small town Tierp between Uppsala and Gävle in Sweden. And last saturday (12 june) the first dig was taken by the owner- , comunity- and builderpeople. It al started with and exhibision in center of town where the European dragracingchamp from reasent year, and the new generation of dragracers appeard with their wehicles. Also there was people from Go Cart and nostalgic dragracers. And of course the owner of the Tierp Arena, Yrkes Akademin. in about a year the plan is to inwite the FIA and UEM to the first race at the brand new track where its going to be al sevices and facilities that is needed. But thers not just going to be dragracing at the Arena. The plans is to do a lot more, lika horseriding, Gocars, tractorpulling, conserts and a lot more. So Tierp is getting one of Swedens biggest eventarea in just about a year. The track is today 2 km long so theres not going to be a problem with the safetyarea. And we´r al looking farward to joy in to this big happening.

Svensk Dragracing koordinerar de olika lokala föreningarna vilka organiserar deltävlingar i NDRS runt om i Skandinavien (och till viss del i Europa). Syftet är att få fler deltagare, publik, mediabevakning och sponsorer på varje enskilt evenemang. Sedan starten 1993 har NDRS vuxit till att bli Europas största dragracingserie, både deltagarmässigt, publikmässigt och med antal deltävlingar. NDRS dragracingNDRS är en dragracingserie som körs på tävlingar i hela Norden (utom Island), och även i England. Serien är Europas största, och den näst största dragracingserien utanför USA (Sportens hemland). När vi talar om största så menar vi på alla plan, deltagarmässigt, publikmässigt och även åskådarmässigt. SponsorerNDRS jobbar tillsammans med många företag som fungerar som klass-sponsorer, sticker-sponsorer eller tävlingssponsorer. Dessutom har det genom åren förekommit massor med annorlunda sponsoravtal som baserat sig på företagets speciella önskemål. Exempel på detta är bl a: Bästa reaktionstids-sponsor, Bästa kvaltids-sponsor, Snyggaste team-sponsor! HistoriaNDRS startade 1994 som The Super Cups. Då för att stödja de nybildade superklasserna och göra en långsiktig riktad insatts för att få tillbaka farten på sporten i Norden. Enligt planerna blev serien snart tvungen att ta med flera klasser och The Nordic Sportsman Cups blev verklighet, nu med de s.k. Sportsman-klasserna. År 1999 togs steget till NDRS (Nordic Drag Racing Series) då den semi professionell klassen Pro Mod kom med i serien som i dag även är en FIA-klass och ingår i EM-serien. |
